Joy is another fruit of the spirit that every one should desire. The differences between Joy and happiness is that happiness is mostly dependent on external circumstances. People are happy when things in their lives are going in the way they desire otherwise. Joy on the other hand can be always present whether the outside happenings are favourable or not. Joy in Greek is "chara" meaning inner gladness. It is internal, it cannot be taken away from us. It stems from an enternal hope that God gives by grace in Christ Jesus. Unfortunately, not every one is filled with joy, a lot of people allow what is happening around them to dictate their state of mind they don't know that to have joy is a choice, you don't have to wait for a job promotion, to buy a new car or get married before you decide to be joyful. I encourage you to habitually choose joy. It sounds impossible but don't forget that "with man, nothing is possible but with God all things are possible".
